Looking for $100 (or less) 512MB/1GB mp3 player.
2006-01-13, 1:08 PM #1
It's for a friends birthday. I'm looking for an mp3 player that is $100 or less and can hold atleast 1GB, or one that holds 512MB but for under $80. I've been searching all over, but I know massassi can find anything so, if you knew of any good mp3 players, just post a link or a name. Thanks.

I thought that's where the shuffle came in the market? Maybe it got discontinued?

no.. it's $100 for 512MB and $150 for 1GB... which is the average price for a flash player

Shuffles are $100 for 512 MB and no screen, I don't think it's worth it considering you can get a 512MB player for less with a screen.

I think there's a 1GB Creative player for around $80, but I'm not sure. I just bought my mom an iAudio G3 1GB for $139.

1gb for less than 100? Good effing luck. 512s for less than 80 are doable, but 1 gigs cost at the VERY least 120-ish.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855179004 - 2gb for 140 (I know it's useless to you, but I stumbled across it and thought it was an awesome deal. For those of you who are reading this thread looking for a good deal)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855603817R - 512 for 82.99, really high quality too (rechargable battery)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855102224 - 512 for 79.99, not that great but decent (rechargable battery)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855125008 - 1gb for 99.00, good quality but no rechargable battery

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855125009 - 2gb for 130 (once again, just for those looking at this thread for deals)

That's the one I got for Christmas, but my parents got a better deal (around $73.00) at Staples before the mail-in rebate, which takes another $16 off the price. Good luck trying to find something like that though.

[Edit] After a bit of digging:

There are some more good ones on ZipZoomFly, namely the Sandisk player I posted before the edit, but they're all out of stock at the moment.

Thanks for the help. I also found this: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2104210&cp=2032054.2032113 but they are sold out, and I've never heard of that brand before (But the mp3 player is getting good reviews).
