Animation software?
2006-01-15, 5:29 PM #1
I would like to make a little animation project but dont know how to go about doing it.

Im sure there is some software out there that I can use to import some pictures to simulate the animation process without having to make animaton cells and the whatnot.

Im not interested in flash, I want one where i can import hand drawn pictures and make a short movie out of them.

ideas?

Adobe Premiere?

Or if you're just wanting something like an animated gif, you could use Adobe ImageReady.

Flash can import drawn pictures.
Think while it's still legal.

The GIMP can do that. So could FFMPEG, mencoder and mplayer.

May I suggest Gamer Maker? It was originally designed to be an animation program, and it's versitle enough that you can use FRAPS to record the animation Good for those who like to program.

Has anyone done anything like this before?

My plan is to upload key frames in a scene and perhaps be able to blend the frames together to fake all the frames in between. If something doesnt look right Ill just add a few more hand drawn frames to clean it up. If this doesnt work ill have to make ALOT of drawings.

Im willing to purchase either flash or premiere, just whichever works best and would not be to difficult to work with.

Premiere is pretty straight-forward. To me anyway.

Neither is gonna do what you want.

However, if you had drawn everything in flash, it could do the inbetween frames. But it can't do it for hand-drawn, raster pixel art.
