I'm heading up there for a couple months this summer to work/play. Has anyone from here been there? My buddy's family has lived there for years, so I'll have him to introduce me to people, but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to go, what to do, etc.

where the hell is Alderney?

Channel Island, near Jersey.

I can ask my dad, he goes there every year to do an inspection (navy thing)...

otherwise, from the Brit massians that we have I doubt any of us have ever been there, I've seen Alderney from Lands End but that is the closest I've got.

Your best bet would be to look through http://www.alderney.gov.gg/ and see if there is anything that looks interesting, if you sail it looks like a good place.
