So, over christmas, I received one box of See's candies and one box of godiva. I've long eaten Godiva chocolates (I get one box every year for christmas and it takes me months to finish them), but the last time I'd eaten See's was when I was in 6th grade or so. Well, to my great pleasure, the See's chocolates were ABSOLUTELY amazing. It was like an or<yay>sm in my mouth. The Godivas were, as always, pleasantly good.
I've always been thrifty and such, but for some reason, when I buy snacks, I always go for the more expensive ones. This doesn't even apply to food in general, or any other thing I buy -- only snacks. For instance, if there's a fancy looking bag of "hand crafted" chips and a bag of doritos, I will buy the fancy looking bag of chips.
The see's made me think, though: is there really a reason for chocolates like godiva to be so freaking expensive? Are they really that much better? Or are all snacks basically the same, and the expensive ones are basically just the cheap ones in fancy boxes and wrapping, with fancy catalogues of what's inside?
Vote and discussss
