So I have been trying to convince a few of my friends that we can have good times playing JK late into the night instead of Halo which I am getting sick of.

Unfortunately, I am having trouble getting it to work. The Zone disagrees with two of their computers, and Qtracker is having trouble displaying my game on the internet, I think because I am behind a router dealy.

Does anyone have any other avenues I could look into or tips that have worked for them?

Thanks.

Oh the mice thing is for DF but I don't think anyone has sufficiently mastered the universe to allow it to be used with a mouse and play sounds and music in WinXP, but I wanted a longer title.

Yes, Halo is the ONLY thing my brother wants to play when he's visiting, and thinks it's dumb that I would want to rent other games and play them for a change. 'Tis quite annoying, Halo is getting really, really old. I used to be a fanboi of the game, but not really anymore.
DO NOT WANT.

That looks uber interesting. So, I set that up between our computers, and can run an IP game between them or what?

JK doesn't play well with NAT, which is more commonplace now than it was when JK was released (basically, anything other than dialup and you'll have a REALLY HARD TIME joining games. Zone works I bit better than JK alone if I remember correctly).

Hamachi installs special drivers to trick the computers into thinking they're all LANed together directly. No NAT. JK is happy. It's worked for me every one of the few times I've had the chance to try it.

Just remember your folder shares will be, unlike with normal internet, completely viewable to the other people on your Hamachi network. So either be sure you aren't sharing anything you don't want to, or turn off file sharing for the Hamachi network device.

Why would you want to play JK?

Yes. Yes. Yes.

Hamachi is an amazing program, and runs flawlessly. Yes, you can do IP games.

Dosbox lets you play DF on WinXP, and the mouse and sound work.

I feel retarded but...

I've semi got this network working. My friend still displays as yellow, so we have some kinks to work out, but I still have no idea how to connect to eachother. How does one go about starting a game and joining and such?
