NHL Game 7. Who will win?

It's Calgary Flames vs. Tampa Bay Lightning. Some will call it the battle two of the best goaltenders today. Some will call it one of the most intense series in recent history. Some will call it Canada vs. U.S.A. Some will call it a series full of despicable(sp?) calls by the referees. Either way, Game 7 has been forced last night in 2nd overtime by Martin St. Louis.

Who's gonna get the Stanley Cup Monday night?!?! Post your thoughts here!

GO FLAMES GO!

Being in Orlando, I'm very slightly closer to the Lightning than the Flames. Therefore, I must cheer for them.

I'm rooting for the Flames, but only because their goalie is Finnish. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

When Kiprusoff was still in the Finnish hockey league playing for TPS (where his career began, he's a native Turkulainen, inhabitant of Turku, a town in Finland) I hated him. This is because he stopped the second consecutive championship of the team I support from happening! The season was 1998-1999, and the decisive game ended 1-0 for TPS after HIFK's goalie, Tim Thomas, let in a puck that was cleared from the neutral zone! I never held a grudge against Thomas, though, he was one of the best goalies I've seen; I can't believe he hasn't made it big in the NHL. He's actually coming back to the Finnish league for next season, the only problem is that he'll be in another Helsinki team, called Jokerit ("the jokers"), which is naturally my team's rival. Last season Thomas was AHL's best goalie, playing for the Providence Bruins with the lowest goal-per-game ratio of the league. More info on the guy.

I'm rooting for the Lightning because the Flames beat the Sharks. Those *******s!

That said, it'll be a hell of a game. I know I'll be watching

I support Calgary for two reasons. The first being that they represent the country that I'm in. The second being that Tampa Bay eliminated the two teams I like (Montreal and Philadelphia), and consequently need to be put in their rightful place.

Personally I like Tampa Bay's team better, but the goal in game 6 should have counted IMHO... The cup should be in Calgary right now...

How could the officials not go upstairs on something like that? I mean it's the Stanley cup final!!
2004-06-07, 3:49 PM #16
Since no one else is saying it... Tampa is currently winning 2-0 with 4:30 left in the 2nd period.

Yeah - I was kinda joking around with a friend, and I came up with a conspiracy theory - how the US will never let Canada win another Cup. It's farfetched sure... but I bet 20$ that they wouldn't win it for another 5 years [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif] Lookin good so far... especially with that referee call in game 6, looks my theory look REAL good.

Sad for the calgary boys, they deserved the cup, BUT, I'm glad for Andreychuk, first cup in 22 years, and also for Khabi, he played an AWESOME game.

oh yeah, also, Tampa bay has a high high amount of Quebec born players, so we'll have Lecavalier bring the cup in rimouski, weee.

That whole puck over the line thing in game 6...I'm glad the Flames aren't making a big deal about it, but the series should have ended there. The puck's clearly over the line.

Doesn't mean it would have counted. Might have been ruled a kick.

Whats wrong with kicking? Isn't it actually harder to kick the puck than to shoot it properly?
