So... what'd you do during your winter break?

I snowshoed 58 miles of the Northville Placid Trail. The NPT is a trail that spans much of the Adirondack Park, and goes from from the town of Northville to the village of Lake Placid (site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics- it was in 1980 that the US hockey team beat the russians at Lake Placid, for those of you who saw the movie Miracle). The entire trail is about 122 miles long, so we did nearly half of it. It took us 11 days, and was totally awesome. Didnt see another soul apart from the people I was hiking with for any of those 11 days, and we went through some of the most remote wilderness that the Eastern US has to offer.

So, what interesting and cool things did other people do during their winter breaks?

Got drunk, got high, rolled, played LOTS of Warcraft 3, skated, had fun, and generally lived up the Senior life.

I'm still on my winter break! OH YEAH!

Since New Year's though, all I've done is sat around the house having a cold, it seems :(

It looks like you folks must have had a blast. My girlfriend, my father, and I went hiking at Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge in Kentucky.

When I read your post my eyes immediately went to the middle without reading anything else. So following the topic headline "What did you do during your winter break," it resulted in a disturbing scenario.

I've been unemployeed for over a year so every freaking day is a vacation (unless you count days when I'm out job hunting). Not something to be proud of, obviously. I spend most of my days (when I'm not out hunting that is) in front of the computer playing video games to kill time and waiting for the phone to ring.

That would make me go completely insane.

I worked a lot, being IT Admin for a retail company can do that to do around the end of December. :p

Other then that, me and my GF split up, but it looks like we will probably get back together as she can't seem to go 20 minutes without talking to me...

I spent a large part of Christmas putting up some fencing, raking leaves and doing revision for exams. Did go kayaking on boxing day in temperatures just above freezing, that was interesting. Shame we hadn't had any recent rain; the water was just ripples mostly, no proper waves to speak of.
Bah, DSettahr's making me jealous! :p
