Spring rolls. The real ones, not deep fried. With the rice-paper thingy around it.

Chinese food is gross. I much prefer Japanese food. They're very different, and unless you're canadian, you've probably never had REAL japanese food. There's a few Japanese resturaunts in big cities like Chicago and whatnot, but I'd bet they're drowned in chain restaraunts. Nothing beats the real stuff from a place that's been making soba noodles for over 100 years. Nothing, honestly. You can taste the perfection of centuries.

There was an authentic Sushi bar in Madison, Alabama of all places. They had amazing sushi. Amazing.

Actually, that's what I've noticed. All of the good Japanese joints are in the middle of nowhere [Like canada, of all places. They almost ALWAYS have good Japanese food, no matter where in canada I've gone. Makes me wonder if there's some sort of embargo with Japan.... I know there isn't, but why is it so unlikely to get a good Japanese meal here, and so much more likely to get one in Canada, of all places?]

I like Japanese food too, but its so damn expensive around here for the small amounts you get. With Chinese or Thai, you get a big meal plus enough left over for a snack later.

Screw you. I have chinese food every night, and when I'm in china, and had japanese food nearly every night when I was in japan. Tenpura was good. Everything else was mediocre. Chinese food wins. Cuz I'm chinese.

I eat in Chinatown (in Philadelphia) on an irregular basis. It's pretty good, though my favorite is probably Tso's chicken. I eat a lot of sushi too; already had it twice this week.

My favorite dish is the following:

- Chow mein
- Fried lice -err- rice
- Beef and Brocolli
- Orange Chicken

Other sides I like:

- Lemon Chicken
- Sweet and Sour Pork
- Anything with beef in it
The cake is a lie... THE CAKE IS A LIE!!!!!

I always order beef and brocoli, but really, I miss the days when I'd go out with a bunch of college buddies and we'd all share what we got over a Lazy Susan style table ^_^

Sweet and Sour Pork is good. Unfortunately I don't really remember all the stuff I have eaten in Chinese restaurants, and I might have forgotten if I liked some better than this. It's just that I have eaten Sweet and Sour Pork most often.

We have lots of all-you-can-eat restaurants here. That's great. You pay once and just eat what you like from a buffet.

My favourite would be Saté spits with peanut-sauce. But I also like fried rice dishes, like Nasi Goreng.

You know, I didn't think that Orange Chicken or Mongolian Beef and their "ilk" were actually real Chinese food. I mean, the food my chinese friends have is like... not even close to that stuff. On that note, I like the stuffed sweet buns (show-pow I think they are prounced), and half the crap from a good dim sum. The other stuff is good too, but I don't know what they are other than "pork" and what I think is tuna.

Pisang Goreng ftw.

A lot of it has been Americanized somewhat. If you were to order some kind of Chinese food in Beijing and then order the same thing in Los Angeles, there would probably be a huge difference.

I think there're also lot's of dishes that aren't necesarily from China, but from Korea or Thailand or another Asian country. But if something has been recognised as Chinese food then it will be sold as such.
