Finally, Amazon.com messes up in my favor

I keep hearing complaints about amazon.com, messing up. Well, here's another one, but better.

Several weeks ago, I ordered a 4GB memory stick for the digital camera I bought my mom for Christmas, costing around $230. I had them take payment from savings account. A few days later, I get notification that they've received the payment. I check my savings account online, nothing had been taken. Eventually I receive the package, still the amount hasn't been taken from my savings account. So it's been maybe 3 weeks, still have money in there.

Yay Amazon! Free memory stick!!

My GF ordered a flash drive in July. It never came, although it said it had been delivered. They sent a replace ment a few days later. Sometime in October, the original showed up. Two for the price of one.

You know, you've acknowledged the error, and you're legally in the wrong right now.

WTF? Why would I say anything at all like that?

I had a similar experience, but on a much smaller scale. Ordered a flash drive, only for 10 bucks, and never got it. The postal service said they'd lost it. Amazon sent me another one, badabing badaboom, the original came the next day. Game over, I got 2 flash drives baby.

I gave one to my friend.

Maybe, but I'm not responsible for the transaction. Just the information to make it happen. And they have that.

Awesome. I'm half tempted to go spend $500 on Amazon now, but I'm sure I'll end up getting double charged to make up for your good fortune.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.
