This is a super simple magic trick that takes 2 dollar bills that you have to cut in half (works with paper too but not as well as the material paper money is made out of).


A) Aquire two $1 dollar bills (bank-holdups or convenience store robberies optional)


B) Lay the two dollar bills out flat on the table like this

C) On one of the dollar bills, apply a thin strip of rubber cement along its middle

D) Stick the other dollar bill on top of the gluey one

¯¯¯¯¯¯


E) Grab a pair of scissors and find someone to perform the trick to. Show them that you have a dollar bill and that you will cut it in half to make two dollars.
Cut the dollar bill in half, right through the middle of where you applied the rubber cement between the bills.

The rubber cement should hold the cut edges together for each half of the dollar bill. Open either half and show them that you indeed have two whole dollars although they clearly watched you snip through it. (The lines show where the rubber cement is holding the cut edges together)

The best magic effect using monetary bills I know is Slow Burn by Richard Sanders. It's a real eye-popper.

No way in hell am I telling how it's done, but I will say all the money involved is normal legal tender :p

Okay, I got it. That's pretty slick, too.

My guess:

He has the other 4 bills folded in half in his left palm, under the money for 99% of the trick. When he slides his hand over, he folds the money on top in half, and the money below is unfolded on top, slipping the folded cash back into the palm.

When he fans the cash out, you'll notice that you can never see his left palm (under the money). The absolute only time the palm is revealed is at the beginning when he flips the cash upside down, which is done to get the money in the right position. All he does is carefully keep the money out of sight during the flip, and make the flip incredibly fast.

So yeah, that's my guess.
