Thoughts?

And please, NO debates.

It's just Counter-Strike but different. It was going to come out sooner or later, these people are just speeding up the process. Vietnam came out like 900 times, with 900 different games, this will come out.. It was bound to happen.

Seen it before, yes it is to soon and no I don't think they should be doing it but I don't think they should be stopped.

P.S., when you ask people for their thoughts you're bound to get debates.

Well, I'm hoping for once people will show a little courtesy to the author's request.

I think it's rather sad that as soon as there's a war going on, game devellopers don't waste a second to cash in on it. They should at least wait a few years, out of respect for the people who fight and die by the hundreds in these wars. They haven't given their lives so little kids could have fun reinacting their deaths on a computer game.

But in the form of a game? Surely there are more logical and respectful ways of getting out info on recent events?

that's not the point... it isn't about getting out info... it's about giving people the ability to play out recent events

I don't quite understand what this is.

Is it a mod for a game? A full game in itself? Do I have to buy it? *confused*

But I don't see a problem with it. Especially if it's free.

It's a game, a really bad one at that.

It makes me feel rather disgusted, but to each his own I guess. The bodies of some of those that died in those missions are not even cold yet and people are already making a buck off of it. I also doubt it'll teach anyone anything because pretty soon people will cheat and hack it and it would have lost whatever meaning it could have possibly had.

Man.. Sucks to be the sucker paying for a subscription thats not worth playing.. Look at rainbow six serie games, or socom 1 and 2. They also deal with world simular issues. I mean if you play desert glory, as a terrorist not only can you look like osma bin laden but you die like him too! Besides, why bother playing that when there are games like socom out? For free? Online too free? PS2.. Good for being free, good times.. I own a xbox too.. so blabberkyperskite! But seriously, I have army buddies who have been there. They laugh at this kind of stuff. Just a weak attempt at a amature wannabe nothing more is what they would say. None the less looks cool. Too bad it isnt free.

Um... How are people supposed to share their individual thoughts and yet avoid debate of any kind?
That would only be possible if everybody posting here shared the same opinion...
But anyway, I'm not here to debate that.
I think it is probably a bit too soon, but I'm not surprised.
Next war theres gonna be video game programmers out there with the reporters, wait and see

I want more games with suicide bombers.
The 'suicide bomber' mod for Quake was great fun, and the suicide bomber units in Command and Conquer: Generals were so useful.
And that flash game was fun too.

They'll make games on the fly, so that gamers can play military missions as they're happening in real life.

Then they'll be annoyed when the gamers start winning more battles than the army. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/tongue.gif]

I don't see a problem with it. If it's in poor taste to recreate real wars, I don't see how the time elapsed between death and exploitation is significant. Also, somebody made a killing on those little plastic flags and annoying "Power of Pride" bumper stickers without any protests. How is this any different?
