Some friends and I have just entered a dodgeball leage. (Yes there is one at the university) But we are still haveing a difficult time chosing a team name. Id like one were we can make a cool logo to go with it for matching shirts. (If you are going to go in, go almost cartoonishly all out I say)

Zloc, you need to watch the movie again. Its very, very brilliant, it jsut happens to be hidden under the veneer of slapstick. and the louis armstrong scene is simply genius.

I saw it once, sorry. My uncle had PPVed it and recorded it to his DVR (Dish) and so we watched it, and this was like a year ago...so I didn't get to watch it many times and "analyze the depth and brilliance in the movie".

i figured, i'm jst sort of mad that many people miss the depth. its seriously there, it jsut takes effort to find. worth it, though. I understand that one might see it once, not pay the greatest attention, and think its just anouther dumb slapstick movie, never to revisit it. If you do, though, sort of ignore the slapstick (not to say it isn;t funny, but it does subtract from it) and msot of Stiller's stuff, and really pay attention to the dialogue. its really good.

and to Zloc: i'm hard pressed to explain it in jsut quotes, but i'll try and point out some of the most memorable bits:

At the beginning, peter is driving to average joes. at first, it starts up slowly, he pats it, says "its going to be a good day" when it changed to outside the gym, he sayd "ok, just a little farther, you can do it!" etc, looks like he's talking to the car. in a few seconds it becomes clear that its actually jsut guys pushing it, and that his car must have given out on the road. refer back to "its going to be a good day".

Steve the pirate: i understand this is a bit of a cheap joke, but come on. how can you not love him? and jsut the whole idea of it is silly, but awesome. and its wash!

The cameos: there is so many in here, and they take attention to notice them all. and all of them are orchestrated wonderfully.

the armstrong scene: again, the whole thing was good, but near the end:
"So, what are you dying from, peter?"
"Well, right now it feels a bit like shame."

last scene: when the people bring out the chest of money, look very closely at the chest. on a gold plate on its front is the words "deus ex machina". That jsut tops it all off. er, if you don;t know what that refers to, let me know and i'll explain.

anyway, as i said, its a whole thing throughout, and i suck and explaining, so sorry if idid a bad job.
