Well, to be fair I haven't seen it. But what I have seen her in suggests she's miles from Oscar caliber (whatever that is these days).

Although there's few things I like more in films than to be surprised by someone I've never held in high regard, as far as talent is concerned.

War of the Worlds had awesome visual moments. The first time the tripod comes out of the ground is amazing. Granted it's the music and such that also contributes, but that angle, looking up at that thing.... Ahhhh, it was huge, that was badass, it was menacing as hell.

(plus that noise they make, mmmm)

Another great part is when they're getting on the boat, they turn around, and there's one just standing there perfectly still, and it blows it's horn... mmm. delicious.

Was I the only one that thought "STRIDER!!!!"

Was I the only one who thought of War of the Worlds when he saw the striders?
Sorry for the lousy German

I did not like WAr of the Worlds at all.

Tom cruise is an idiot.

Steven Speilberg is a genius, one of my all time favorite directors.

War of the Worlds just didn't interest me, one bit. I thought the execution of hte film was very poor, and it just didn't draw me into it. I can't even bring myself to watch it a second time. I tried to but turned it off half way through.

The trouble with War of the Worlds, is that the whole impenetrable shield thing just doesn't work. It's impossible and kind of lame. Instead of an actual battles I was forced to watch Tom Cruse.

Civil Protection!

I'm probably only going to watch the Oscars this year to see Jon Stewart.
