Big touch screen displays are nothing extremely new (Merl DiamondVision), but the software and app support shown for this one just makes it instantly desirable. Forget the Optimus keyboard, this is how I want to interact with my computer.

Aha, the page is working now. It was down earlier this morning, presumably because of being linked from both Slashdot and Digg.

Neat stuff.

EDIT: Haha, I remember playing that game at the very end. I think someone linked it here a few months back.

Hey, Blue? I'm loving the things you do. From the very first time, the fight you fight for will always be mine.

notice the apple toolbar across the top at one stage in the video...

http://www.tgdaily.com/2006/02/04/apple_touchscreen_patent/

I know its at toms hardware, which some people don't like all that much, but what it describes sounds very similiar to what I saw going on in the video, looks like apple is starting to move in another new direction when it comes to touchscreen tech.
People of our generation should not be subjected to mornings.

It looks like it would take some practice to get good at it, but once you're used to it, it would be the only way to use a computer. The possibilities are endless. I particularly like the photo album demo.

It kinda reminds me of Minority Report, with that one computer screen that Tom Cruise uses with gloves... did anyone else think that?

*coughcough*

That is really really really cool. But that's the keyword. Cool. I really don't see it having any shockingly new potential that can't be realized with traditional controls.

You should watch the video then. Sure you can do the same things with a mouse, but it's much easier, faster, and more intuitive to do it that way.

That's exactly what I thought of when he started doing the zooming stuff.
