It's from the director of Equilibrium, which is why you can spot some similarities...actually maybe too many similarities.
Unfortunately, most movies that try to make a female protaognist look badass seem to fail miserably. Catwoman, Elektra, Tomb Raider, and Aeon Flux are some examples.
Kill Bill is a bit of an exception, but then again, the movie didn't really try hard to make Uma look like a badass with the exception of her one fight scene. Underworld can also be viewed as an exception, but then again that movie actually focused more on plot development then having Kate Beckinsale be all flashy.
Still...I'll see it when it arrives on DVD just for the more "fluid gun kata."

Quote:
=re-uses the soldiers in bike helmets, except now they're wearing gas mask type ones.
=re-uses the stun batons.
=re-uses the same actor who is apparently playing a resistance member or at least a vampire sympathizer.
=sequence where "you won't make it out alive" is basically repeated.
=milla in the chair being probed or tested akin to Preston's lie detector test.
=preston kicking *** in a hallway then circular room, milla kicking *** in a circular room.
=and there's more just from watching a short trailer.
