I guess if you look tired, the other players have a harder time to see if you're bluffing?

Sat down at the 'puter last night around 10pm thinking, I'll play a quick match of Battlefield 2 before I hit the sack. Started it up, connected to a server, played, turned around to check the clock only to realize it was 4:00am and that I'd drank 3 bawls. :s Needless to say, I still haven't gone to bed. :o

I slept for six hours last night. Unfortunately, it was from two to eight. I'm trying to wake up at six every morning, which means I need to be in bed between ten and eleven. Whenever I wake up early and abruptly, I have incredible amounts of energy for the rest of the day. The difference between getting up early and getting up late is like the difference between night and day.

...You know me so well it's creepy. roughly 67% of the reason I was watching Smallville was for Kristen Kreuk (Lana Lang), and I was doing push-ups and sit-ups at random intervals throughout the night. Though I wasn't continuously looking in the mirror.

I've found it is easier to stay up late with work the next morning than it is with school the next morning. I guess it is because work is mindless labor and school requires some sort of conciousness.

But... I have never stayed up THAT late before...

Yes! I always thought there were truly night owls and early birds, and I used to think I was a night owl. I was the first person to claim BS on people who claimed they had so much energy the earlier they get up. After witnessing the truth of this first hand, I will never trick myself into thinking it's okay to get up at 10, noon, or hell, 2. It's ****ing hard not to, but when I can manage it, it's worth it! (And I've only managed it twice in the past, oh, five years -- sad).

That probably has something to do with the ideal amount of sleep is around seven or eight hours. Oversleeping makes one sluggish. D:

I think my record is forty-eight hours without sleep. I stayed up 'till five-thirty on Wednesday, but frankly, I'm disappointed with myself on that one. I was trying to stay up all night, and failed horribly.

Haha, I always feel so refreshed after sleeping 15 or so hours. I'm not energetic, but I feel so damn good.

Usually, if I want to stay up all night I can. Most of the time I just decide to go to bed at 2-3 in the morning (even on school days :|)

I need 8-9 hours of sleep a night, but then again, I'm really active these days, so that throws the number up a little bit more. Sometimes, though, if I have a few days where I really exert myself in a row, it takes more sleep to get the body feeling good again.

Chumps. I go to bed when I want, and get up when I want (which is usually around 6:45, just out of habit, although I often go back to sleep until 8:30).
2006-02-11, 9:41 AM #36
My regular school schedule is go to sleep at around 12 or 12:30AM (after Conan), and then go to sleep and wake up around 6:45AM.

However, during summer or on days off of school, I am usually up till 2 or 3AM, and will sleep till 'round 11AM.

Really different. Chances are when you stay up late and get up early, you're going to be sleepy, not tired. When you're doing mindless labor you've got plenty to run on and are not concentrating on being as sleepy as much. But, when you're in class, the sleepyness will catch up with ya.
2006-02-11, 12:46 PM #38
When it comes to "staying up late", that concepts does not exist with me. Yes, that's right... there is no such thing as "staying up late" for me since my sleeping habits are sporadic and I just go to bed whenever I feel tired, regardless of the time. Of course, I can only get away with this because I'm unemployeed. That'll have to change once I start college up again next week.
