Then why have I been giving my dimes to Kedri all these years?

I put down 3 to 4 yrs. This is the minimum amount of time that I predict that Massassi will last for. By then, I can't imagine anyone editing or even touching JK. Then again, this site is centralized around the discussion forum; that portion won't die.

When Sith2 is released, Massassi will see a resurgence. Mark my words.

One by one, the users will become paranoid and denounce the admins as corrupt masterminds of an evil conspiracy to crush their freedoms. They will rebel, assisted by some traitorous elements of the administration, and be slowly banned. Eventually, only JediGandalf and MBeggar will remain. After an intense battle, the likes of which this forum has never seen, they will agree to set aside their differences and share Massassi in peace.

But it'll be really boring with no one left, so you know, whatever.

It will last long enough for me to have kids and show them what I did when I was a teenager.

THe funny thing is, Massassi has already lasted as long as he has in the poll.

Quite honestly I wouldn't have ever imagined that I'd be still visiting this place when I joined "OMG DFM" in 2001.

But still the idea of another 5 years seems odd.

So I'll say 6 years just to be Niku.

It's lasted so much longer than most ever thought possible. Who knows. I think the core community will be around "or further". Even if Brian lived under a highway overpass and the site went under, #massassi would still go on.

if Lucas decides to continue releasing Jedi Knight or other modable games then it'll keep going :D

if massassi needed money to keep going, i would pay something. Unless it was over £200. if so, I think we all should pay something.

The forums will last a bit longer, but the site has been dead for ages. It'll be difficult to surpass what JKHub is offering at this point.

The curve in this poll repeats, sort of.

Just the second one is higher.

That's interesting.

It's sad to say, but Massassi is dying a slow death. The ONLY reason I'm still able to post is because I have virtually nothing else to do at my Job but sit and stare at the computer screen. If it wasn't for that then I'd hardly ever visit. Things might change when I get my business running because I'll have more free time, but most likely, I'll be spending that extra time with my family or doing other stuff that I've always wanted to do.

Massassians are growing older and their lives are becoming busier as more and more of us are going out into the real world and taking a stronger in other things (such a women, starting a family, adventuring outdoors, etc). A lot of the older members have already left and others have began to post far less frequently. True we are still getting new members, but we don't have the driving force of the JK editing community that we use to have. Things like the JKhub, Sith 2, and JK Rebirth are helping to keep the torch alive, but I suspect within 2-3 years, this website will close it's doors to the world.

2-3 years? Heh - I doubt it...you'd be surprised at the amount of time even "older" people have - look at off-topic.net or Anandtech's off topic section..

Unless you've re-registered under a different name, you haven't been here a year yet - many of us have been here for over five years already. I can't remember when the last time was that I played JK..and I still stick around.. :p
