Haha, you fell into that pit of crappy television drama, too? Idiot.

I'll bet you like 24, too. Haha.

Instead of watching lost, you were writing a 3 page essay on why you cancelled a magezine subsciption.

Hahaha, spanked. 24 rocks. Never saw Lost.
Think while it's still legal.

Crap, I knew I was forgetting something. I forgot to watch Lost. Oh well, I'll just get the one that'll be up on the hub in a couple of hours; it'll be better than watching it with the crappy antenna + TV tuner card.

Also, Kirby, WTF? It's Rob's job to come into threads and insult people.

One would be lost without Lost. It's practically the only non-educational show on television that's worth watching.

Lost...the first season was enjoyable, but honestly, how long can a show about being stranded on a jungle island keep the viewer's interest? Not long, not long at all. Probably just the first season, then it got boring as hell. The thing that kept my interest were the little flashbacks here and there. Oh well, show's boring, I don't watch it anymore.

Now 24 is a different story, my friend. That show just keeps getting better and better with every second I watch it. And I thought last season was good. This new season is keeping me on the edge of my seat, literally...just typing about it, I'm nearly falling out of my computer chair. It's that good of a show. :)

Tonight's episode was was largely mediocre and uneventful, until that stupid countdown thing... I swear I saw a flux capacitor.

What they did was just plain mean.

Ohhhhhhhhhh watch out. You may incur the wrath of JediKirby for liking something mainstream.

Firefly > all

I watch 24 here and there, never got into Lost. I saw a black cloud in one episode and I was like WTH? It's not real, this show sucks.

Does anyone watch House?
House is a great show. A sarcastic genius doctor who does things his own way in his clinic, I love it.

House is my favorite show. That and 24 are the only two things I watch.

Well, I just watched it. I was also quite disappointed when the countdown got to zero, started showing the hieroglyphs or whatever they are, and you hear a motor spooling up and a couple of valves "thunk"ing open and then it resets anyways. What a tease. Here's a pic of that; linked to avoid spoilers.

Also, what was with the crappy CGI at the beginning? Seriously, if I hadn't just seen it, you could probably convince me that this was a BF2 screenshot or something:

I watch both 24 and Lost, and I like them both. I watch very little TV these days, and 24, Lost and CSI (the original, not those spin-offs) are pretty much all that I'm following regularly right now).

I was a loser and started looking up some stuff
Spoilers regarding a specific event:

First Panel is: C or S or X
Second Panel: Cant see a letter
Third Panel: I dont think its a real heiroglyphic
Red Panel: A
2nd Red Panel: Again, I dont think its a real one

So 2 out of the 4 you can read are actual heiroglyphics. Weird.

There's a big discussion going on at the SA forums about the hieroglyphs. A direct translation into English didn't work, so there was a theory that the symbols represented the different stations (because all of the symbols represent animals in some way). Then some Egyptologist came in and said that they meant roughly "to cause to die". Anyways there's some places where you can see different symbols; when it's flipping: Probably the second symbol here, a different symbol in the first position here, and one in the first and fourth position here.

Oh, there's also some speculation that it's a gate address, and when the count gets to zero there's a big stargate that opens up on the island.

EDIT: Oh now this is interesting:

Another translation of the symbols:
"Hi all, I work in the Egyptology department at the University of Canbridge. There's three things that I think people are missing. Firstly, the ancient Egyptians did not speak modern English. Those of you who are expecting the glyphs to spell out a word (like "Sayid") in Western letters are going to be disappointed! Secondly. The last two symbols are determinative glyphs. That is they convey meaning to the other glyphs. Finally, The fouth glyph is not the vulture nor the owl as some people on this forum have mistaken it as. The symbols in the clock are as follows (in Gardiner format): [S29] [Z7] [T34] -- [G37] [Z6] The first three are phonetics (s,w,nm). When said aloud together, they make a sound that is not unlike the English word "swan".

The last two (determinatives) are "small" and "death" So we have (Swan)--(Small Death) Read that as you want. It's clearly ambiguous and I expect the writers intended for it to be ambiguous."

I'm actually a little worried that it may be getting predictable. The "distraught woman shoots prime suspect" plot device has been used twice by the show already, and in both cases involved characters I cared more about than Inessa the Russian mail-order bride .

Hope they pull out something pretty soon to shock me out of my complacency.

24 ftw

I don't know what repetitive devices in the storyline have been used since this is my first season of watching it. :)
