I'm about to drive somewhere..maybe I shouldn't, now that we have sporadic snow, stuff might get slippery. I'll probably go anyway, though. :p

I lived through Hurricane Francis, so I've seen much worse -- but snowy roads and 40mph winds aren't the greatest.

Weather.com just changed - now we have 28mph winds gusting to 49mph. That's a 9 on the Beaufort Scale:

Strong Gale
47-54
L- Slight damage occurs to buildings
W- High waves, dense spray, visibility affected

My dad used to have an apartment on the 26th floor right on the edge of lake Eerie(sp?) in Ohio. Went to visit him during the winter once and the winds were insane, breaking windows etc.

Exciting though. :) I hate riding my bike in the wind, takes too much energy.

Heh, we had 60 mph here this morning, and it was recycling day. So the whole neighbourhood was littered with pizza boxes and laundry detergent bottles.
