Yes, finally after being sent the wrong motherboard, and hence an extra weeks worth of shipping parts back and forth, I finally got my new compy running. Triple the processor speed, double the RAM, Hard drive, and video card power of my last machine... I havent had a feeling like this since August of 2000, the last time I bought a whole new computer (not slowly upgraded it).

So now once HL2 finishes updating, I think I'll give that a try. Might be a nice game to play with a good framerate, which I did not have before.

So...why'd you get a P4? If you're using it for gaming.

And isn't that P4 a Celeron?

Well, there are P4 Celerons, but i there are 2.8 P4s as well. is it a Socket 478 or 775? Anyway, i'm a bit concerned about that as well. Why a P4? (I've got the next one up, and while it does most of what i need, i can't wait to see it out the door and replaced with an Athlon64 X2. As for the other specs, you're about on par with me (though my HDD is smaller). Finally as for the case, that wouldnt be an Asus Vento, would it?

I thought I remembered him mentioning something about it being a celeron.

[shrugs] I havn't been hanging around the discussion forums much lately. I probably missed the earlier threads.

It most certainly is not a celeron.

Well then I repeat my first question.

Is that 6600 a vanilla or a GT, only if it's a vanilla you got seriously pwned; the GT offers a 38% performance boost for not a lot extra.
