Well, I just got around to finishing Max Payne 2. Some of the lines were lame in my opinion, but overall, but I think it was a very good continuation of the story and ended nicely.
To my surprise, however, the ending credits finished with this line:
This thoroughly excited me. I love the series so much that I would play them past "Max Payne 12" and so on. About 3 /4 through the game, it seemed that Max was like a dying dog that needed to be shot. Or, one that was shot, but wouldn't die. To put it in Vlad's words:
In addition, how can there be a sequel who's title is "The fall" of the main character? But Max didn't "fall" at the end. He was quite peaceful in fact, but the story was unresolved. After doing some google searches, I found that Max Payne 3 is very much up in the air. The game didn't sell nearly as much as it should have, and a key CEO left Rockstar that backed the Max Payne series. Maybe it didn't sell well because it wasn't properly marketed; I didn't hear anything about the game until shortly before it's release.
Well, heres for hoping.
