BattleStar Galactica. How amazing is this show? I mean it's getting so much attention now, was just reading something in Time Magazine about it, and stuff. It is sooo well done. I wasn't expecting much but the show has been amazing so far. and OMG it's getting intense!

But so I didn't watch the Original much..any fans of the original have any opinions on how it compares?

I liked both the original and the new series... but I haven't been watching television lately, so I haven't been keeping up with any of my favorite shows. :(

I'm watching the last episode of the first season as I type this. Took me about two weeks to watch the pilot and the first 13 episodes. I've loved every minute of it. The story is great, awesome characters. It just rocks.

I just got into it, I've seen maybe 3-4 episodes in random order...

And still! -- This is a fantastic show. I love it.

Been watching since the sci-fi mini-series aired. Amazing show. Goes way beyond the age-old human vs. machine cliche.

know it, watch it, love it.

In terms of acting and storyline, its superior to SG1, and on par with B5.

One thing troubles me tho.

The technology.

One minute they're using standard p90 firearms, the next they jump through space faster than light.

I thought the 47-thousand number was the number of deaths.

I never really got into it.
I tried watching it once, I started to get into it in one of the more intense scenes then they started saying 'frack' and I just laughed.
of course they can't say the word 'f' word but when they replace it with something so trite and unoriginal it just completely removes me from the atmosphere.
lots of little stuff like that just made it very unpleasent to watch.

nah the 47,875 is the # of the remaining humans. Billions died from the Cylon attack on the 12 planets.

Or perhaps "Get back here, you taffer!"

Yeah, they started airing here, too. I wanted to watch the pilot to be later able to laugh about how bad it is, but I was positively surprised. But I already missed two episodes. I never think of watching TV in the evening.

I started watching at the beginning of season 2.

I just love Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff)

I just love Starbuck's character (he was a dude in the origninal though) and Katee's body.

(hotness wise though, number 6 [the girl you're talking about] is great too)

Been watching since Day 1. (miniseries)

The old and the new are two completely different series. The idea remains similar, but many many things have changed. (I'm almost positive the Pegasus doesn't show up in the original .)

It really is a fantastic show.

SG:1 > BSG > Atlantis, but all three of them are very very close.

No, I'm pretty sure the Pegasus did show up in the original.

Yeah, in The Living Legend, parts I and II.

The Pegasus is just bad luck. Adama should leave them.

Maybe I'm just weird, but I thought Number 6 was at her hottest when she was in the whole sweatshirt-and-jeans get-up when she was convincing Baltar that he was insane.

And, yeah. Each episode seems to have become a "WHAT WHACKY AND CUH-RAZY THINGS WILL THE PEGASUS DO THIS WEEK?" series.

Well Pegasus hasn't exactly had a stable commander in.... well... ever. Cain was a psychopath, her XO wasn't much better and liked playing the black market, the Engineer didn't have a damn clue.... Maybe Lee will FINALLY get it right.
