as for the software to get I can't help you. I'm looking myself. My freind said he had one that a guy he knew who worked at Motarolla gave him so I'ma try to get his.

The majority of programs out there suck at it. Easier way is to get a phone that plays MP3 ringtones

What kind of phone do you have?

A nokia 6620. It plays midis and "music tones" and stuff like that. Would it be better to upgrade to a phone that does mp3s?

if it is a nokia, I was able to get a bunch of software from their site that does it all for you, although in all honesty the quality after conversion is pretty bad.

Heh, if I could make a ring tone that was mp3 quality, I'd probably have one that sounded like I'm coughing. That way if my phone goes off in a movie theater or in church, people wouldn't know I'm not actually coughing. It would be kinda odd though to see someone coughing through their butt so maybe a farting ring tone would be more realistic. Then again, that would be embarassing not to mention people would go "damn, that guy keeps farting at regular intervals and there is no smell?". Hmmmm... I probably need to give this idea some more thought.
