There is no way in hell my comp will run civ4 either
2006-03-02, 10:11 AM #7
Then give us specs so we know what games your comp can run.
Pissed Off?
2006-03-02, 10:12 AM #8
What are its specs? My computer is close to the minimum specs for CivIV and it runs surprisingly well. Doom 3 is far more taxing on my computer than CivIV, for example.

UT is probably the optimal 3D game you could run on your computer.

* 900 MB available hard disk space

Ugh, I hate Freelancer.

Jedi Academy and outcast might work (maybe)

Try vampire the masquerade, the old one, not the new one.
Code:
if(getThingFlags(source) & 0x8){
  do her}
elseif(getThingFlags(source) & 0x4){
  do other babe}
else{
  do a dude}

Was it the random missions? Yeah, I hated those too. I stuck with the storyline as much as possible, which was awesome. Also, there's not enough freighters in the game, and the best one sucks. Other than that, the game is a dream.

Older game, but good: Space Empires IV

Meets two of the three requirements (open ended, cap-ships)
It's a 4X game (eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate). All 2D, but should be able to run it with no problems on your computer.

Space Empires V, which is not out yet, will be 3D.

MY GOD AND HEAVEN I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THAT GAME FOR YEARS!!!!!! :D :eek: :D :D :eek: :D

My comment was directed towards Freelancer (the person) and probably should have been worded more like this:

OMG, FREELANCER, I'VE PLAYED THAT GAME DESCENT BEFORE AND OMG I LOVE IT etc etc

Freelancer (THE GAME) wouldn't stand a chance on his machine

I hated the game Freelancer. The random missions were a good idea but ended up being ridiculously repetitive, and the ally system was weird. I entered an allied system surrounded by allied starfighters. I landed in an allied space station, and when I took off again, every f***ing unit in the system was attacking me.

I stopped playing it.

On the bright side, Oblivion is looking amazing. I can't wait to buy it, just after I buy my new machine.

It was just announced today that it had gone gold and was coming out on the 20th. :D

I should be getting my ATI X1900XT next week so I'll be all set and giddy like a school girl.

Master of Orion 1 and 2.

3D is too quirky for the really GOOD games.
