Wrong power box!!!???

I'm buying this

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16814150108

and

http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16817148027

However, the review on the PSU, says it's doesn't have any PCI-E connectors? I need to power connectors to go the the 7800gt. Will it work on the PSU? Also, the 7800 is out of stock, how long does it ususally take for them to get in a new shipment?

I'm pretty sure you need a PCIe power connector for the 7800GT. One isn't needed for all PCIe cards, but you do need one for the 7800GT. [edit]In other words, I don't think that power supply will work. You may be able to find some sort of adaptor that converts a regular 4-pin molex to a PCIe connector, but I don't personally know.[/edit]

Actually, I think most models above the 6600GT require one. I'm not sure about that, but I think they might.

I'm sure someone else will come by with some concrete info.

Seriously. I don't know much about the hardware aspect of PCs, mainly programming, OS and software.

Is that PSU good for it?

Edit: Man! They took the XFX 7800gt off Newegg!

The video card will come with an adapter to change two 4-pin power adapter to a 6-pin PCI-E adapter. Regardless, that power supply sucks.

If you're looking for a cheap power supply, FSP is a very popular brand for being great quality as well as low on price. I'd suggest this one:

Nice PSU, but no SLI support.

What? "SLI" support? It's a freakin PSU!

For real.

They don't make PSU's with "SLI support" Thats a god damned gimmick kid.

Just buy a normal, high watt rated one. The 7800GT comes with a little y converter that converts it all to plug into your card.

Actually, they do make PSUs with SLI support. Although by that they mean it has two PCI-E connectors for dual video cards. But again, you can use the 2x 4-pin to 6-pin PCI-E adapters too. The former way just leaves less wire clutter and cleaner power because of not using adapters.

You're gonna be hard pressed to find a PSU with SLI support in that price range, unless you are willing to spend a little bit more. I wasn't sure if you picked the Aspire because it was cheap or because you thought it was a good power supply.

It's hard to find a good adapter, man are faulty and don't connect right, but I found that PSU, and it seems like a good one, with 2 6-pin PCI-E connectors. I'll probably go with that one. Still trying to sell PC, I got a lot of people that want to buy it, just that not a lot of people have $500 to instantly whip out of their pocket.
