Stop it Spork. After SWG I've sworn off all MMORPGs unless one of them looks incredibly cool... I actually have $150 left over that I didnt spend in Germany and I get another paycheck tomorrow....

NO! Must control self.

Can I make an evil looking balding chinese guy with iron claws and name him Betty?

I'm actually looking at the EQ2 site right now. EQ was such a better game than SWG.

NOTE: The graphics are in fact much better than they appear in this shot.. I've been playing with them turned way down to try and troubleshoot a little hardware trouble I've been having.

You can fly, superjump, teleport, and run really, really fast. Not to mention advanced and prerequisite incarnations of all those forms of transportation.

And not to mention combinations... I've seen people with super-jump and super-speed, they must cross a map in about 10 seconds flat.

You level faster if you're in a group of people within one level of yourself and you're doing missions. You get rewarded with xp at the end of each and they generally have enough enemies inside to make it worth it.

I know, it was searing sarcasm. So far it's been fun and I love how the missions and random spawns are tailor made for your difficulty level. Not easy, but not too hard. Although one mission I had was just annoying. The enemies were places in HUGE clumps and I just got raped.

Yeah, sometimes it seems like their mission generator screws up... I think that makes it more fun though, because I'm then forced to put together a powerful team to take them out [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

It's the front-loaded missions that piss me off. I had one last night with a large bunch of 6s right inside the entrance, then a stretch of 5s, followed by several dozen 2s right near the end, including the final boss. That was weird.

Last night I had just a phenominal group that got me like from level 8 to 8.5 in about 20 minutes. We had a radiation defender forming the core of our little group, and us 5 blasters would huddle around him. He was constantly healing us, weakening our enemies, and hastening us. Not only were we invincible tanks, but we had disturbingly destructive firepower. We would take clumps of 10 or so yellows at once around Perez Park for eons of XP.

I made a Radiation Defender. Currently level 5 and about 150 XP from 6. He kicks serious sabre-toothed goat booty. Name is Konrad.

About 800 until I try out all the base power sets. I really like the Radiation Defender though, so I'll probably stick with it.

CoH is catching some flak for longevity elsewhere as well. Apparently all you can do is level up..?? I love a good level grind, so I might pick it up sometime after my exam on Thursday. Maybe I'll see you guys then.
2004-06-12, 4:56 PM #71
My only gripe about your gravity controller is that I'll run up to bust some guys with a good brawl or radiation infection and they go flying halfway across the map.

Yeah, that is really all there is to do. But there's 5 different arcetypes, 5 primary and 5 secondary power sets per archetype, plus you get 8 character slots per server, so there's plenty of room for rerolls.

First month is free (but you need a credit card regardless), from then it's $14.95 a month. You can also get 60-day play cards from stores for $30 I think.

Could this run it?

1.33Ghz Athlon XP 1500 [not amazing]
768 RAM
32mb Geforce2 MX [not amazing +1]

I'd like to know if it could actually run at a decent pace at the lowest settings, not whether NC Soft claim it meets the reqs. Game companies tend to state the reqs a bit lower than anyone but a masochist could play at [5fps anyone?] so I'd like a somewhat less biased take on that.

Of course I'd have to choose between this and AC, which is actually tabbed as we speak.

The recommended (not minimum) specs on the bottom of the box are 1.7ghz FX 56000. The minimum specs are 800mhz, GeForce 2.

I run it with a GeForce 4 (and admittedly very nice everything else) everything on maximum 1280x1074, and it runs perfectly. So maybe someone with a system closer to yours would be better answering your question... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Schming has a system very close to Spork's.

Schming's computer runs City of Heroes very smoothly maxed out. Schming cannot say the same for Star Wars Galaxies, which Schming cannot believe he played for so long.
