Pick my new car!

I think I may finally shop for a new car in 6 months or so, probably something german. My old honda is approaching the 12 year mark. It's becoming old and busted.

The choices so far:

1. BMW 330si Z4 coupe (available in June, price markup because of newness)
2. BMW 330si Z4 convertible
3. Porsche Cayman S (very pricey...too pricey)

Wow, you must make a decent wage.

Definitely go for the Coxster. The Z4 is barely a true BMW as it's American built. Do you really want an American car? Plus the Porsche is heaps faster and better looking.

I love the Porsche, but it's slightly higher than what I am comfortable with paying. The lowest price I've seen at the dealers is $64,000. I'm trying to keep things under $50k.

I never thought you had this kind of money. Nice :D

I voted for the BMW coupe because thats my style of car.

beemer roadster, but only if the roof retraction is automatic, too much hassle if you need to to it manually and it takes 10 minutes when the rain starts to come down.

So why not a Boxster S? Cheaper than the Coxster, still better than the Z4.

Personally if I was after a 2 seat sports car I'd go for a Lotus Elise. Or an F430...

As the guys on Top Gear say, if youre going to get a Boxster its not worth it. A Cayman or a 911 would be worth it, but a boxster is just a cheap version i guess.

Get a Saturn, it's all you need for a functional car.

OOO. You are actually getting one of those fine automobiles? Might I sugest a Corvette Z06 (brand new). Yes, I know it is expensive... but the engine... its sooooo loud!!! (and it gets good gas milage - or kilometerage for you metric people ;) ... - for a 7.2 liter engine) It also outperforms those cars. But heck. All those cars you posted I really like, too.

If you go to a BMW dealership and ask to test drive a 330si Z4, they'll look at you funny.

Maybe you should consider the Mercedes SLK as well?

A friend of mine here in Tallahassee has one that he just put a nice engine into. I forget what engine it is, but it's got a turbo :) Pretty quick for a DMC-12.

I did test drive the Corvette convertible on a mini track. With 400hp it was plenty powerful and plenty fun. The coupe is in the price range of the high end Z4s, but I think I rather have something European.

If you dont mind japanese cars, you should also consider the is350 = ]

It goes from 0-60mph in 5.3 seconds, so it aint a turtle at all!
