Does anyone know how I can download games legally?

Mwah!

What I'm asking, in practicallity, is if there are any online stores where you can make the shipment "download" rather than UPS... because I want to get a game, but I don't feel like waiting and I can't go out to buy it at a store.

Any tips? I once thought that www.egghead.com offered this service, but it looks like Amazon bought them out or something.

Have it shipped express. You can wait 12-24 hours, right? [http://forums.massassi.net/html/wink.gif]

They just don't seem to offer it with games. You'll find many useful aps downloadable. I'm sure that will end up being the wave of the future once they work out the piracy issues. In the meantime, I guess you could "illegally" download a game that you have ordered because you have already paid the money and are therefore entitled to it. Slippery slope there and we're not supposed to discuss downloading illegal software so I won't go any further with that line of reason. Plus, there is the whole thing of installing software that you really don't know what it is.

Personally, I haven't had the mindset of not being able to wait for a game for a long time. I wait for the price to drop and, if I'm ordering online, select the cheapest/free shipping option.

You'll spend as much time downloading the game as you would having it shipped.

Not everyone is fortunate enough to have broadband. Myself for instance.

Its not that I particularly want the game fast... Its just that I'm totally home alone and stranded at my house for the next five days, and I'd like some new games to play to keep me occupied.

Given the fact that most huge file servers only give connections up to 30-40kb/s due to the massive bandwith usage, the quality of a person's connection would really have nothing to do with it.

Whats that new console coming out... Phantom or something... I think I saw something on TechTV about that console using broadband connections to download games to the console, for a price... I dont like that idea. If I get a game, I want the disc... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/rolleyes.gif]

Maybe there'd be a way to download a burnable disc image? That'd solve it! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

In fact, it's inevitable. The cost-efficiency is big.
