Doctor Who

Recently, a new television series for us Amerilanders came out last friday due to the season finales of Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Battlestar Galactica. It's called "Doctor Who", a Brittanicalandish made television series about an alien fighting plastic controled objects with a pen-like thing that R2-D2 would have.

So, why am I making a thread about Doctor Who when there was no thread about Stargate/BSG last week? Why? It's because of Ruthy. He actually enjoys the show.

What's your opinion?

the new Doctor Who is very entertaining (Billy Piper is right-sexy)

You ever see Invasion Earth!? Now that was good!.

That's a series I'd like to see, it's got extremely wacky theme at least :)

You know it's been running for 20 odd years, yes?

I'm assuming you're starting at the beginning of Christopher Eccleston's Doctor?

I'm very much looking forward to the new series with David Tennant. His Doctor looks pretty ruthless.

Yes, Christopher Eccleston is the Doctor where we are starting.

I enjoyed it! They essentially kept the same themesong and sound effects from the 80's too.

Ruthless? He just isn't the type to give second chances... other than that he seems rather.... energetic. XD

It took me some time to figure out his name wasn't actually "Doctor Who" but just "the Doctor", hence the following query "Doctor who?" in the title.

I haven't seen it yet, but I really want to catch it.

I'm the Doctor.
Doctor who?
Who?
Who.
Who...
Who!

I really enjoyed the two episodes I saw. Really top notch. The actor who plays the Doctor is really superb.

It started in the 1960s.

And Christopher Eccelston is me favourite doctor, and David Tennant looks promising.

:)
nope.

He was only the Doctor for one series, and it was on TV last year.

Last year. Thank you. Yeah, that was when the show was first aired over here in North America. It was only in Europe up until then, right?

Could anyone tell me when Dr. Who is on in the U.S.? I'd love to watch an episode and see how it rates with the older ones.

As for Christopher Eccleston, I thought I'd seen him somewhere before, I realize now that was in Shallow Grave, quite a good movie. I like his looks as the doctor, and I think he's a pretty good actor from what I've seen of him.

Eccleston was also the bad guy in Gone In 60 Seconds if I recall.

Anyone else watch the Christmas Invasion?

He is also in 28 Days Later.

Hell yes. Wasn't quite as good as the previous series but suppose it shows promise. Tenant just needs to settle into the role I guess.
nope.

<3 Daleks

I love Daleks so much that when I found a Dalek vehicle mod for UT2k4 I kept it on my computer even though I don't have UT2k4, just in case I ever got it. :o
