How do you make your own DVDs?
2006-03-22, 3:04 PM #1
Now that I've made my movie, I'd very much like to make a DVD of it. I was wondering what software I'd need, and whether or not I can do it for free by getting something off the internet. I have Ulead at the moment, which only does editing as far as I can tell, but I'm not certain. Any good program suggestions (especially freeware)?

Thanks. :)

Please read the actual content of my post instead of just the thread title next time. If you had read my post you would understand how this is not what I'm asking for.

Useless.

On WinXP I would just use Tmpegenc to encore my movies to DVD-compliant MPEG2 and burn with Roxio or Nero (both make video DVDs, IIRC).

http://www.videohelp.com/ would be a good place to look for some guides and free utilities.

I use TMPGEnc, but it's not free.

DVD Styler seems to be exactly what you're looking for.

Nero is quite simple and gets the job done. There are better programs out there though, if you're willing to get past the learning curves.

Thanks everyone, this was very helpful. I found out today that my Ulead software does come with DVD creation, and while not bad, it is not quite to my liking. I think I'll try my hand at the DVD Styler program, it looks promising.

Thanks again, I'll report bakc with my progress. :)
