Antestarr gave me this link, and I'm pretty sure I haven't seen it posted on Massassi:

Some of the fighting moves felt/looked illogical, but I'd almost say that looked more professional than Star Wars. I mean, they look like they're ACTUALLY doing stuff, and not the super-close/super-pulled back soeed-blur CG stuff you see in the prequels. There's some pretty neat moves they pull off in any case that I wish they'd done in the movies.

Teh old newz </obligatory>

If I remember right, Ryan Wieber actually got hired by Lucasarts on the basis of the quality of work on his fan films.

Extremely well done choreography. Nice sound effect timings. Overall an awesome fan movie.

Then he got canned a few months down the line. :p

I still use his lightsaber rotoscoping tutorial.

I've had the quicktime version of that on my desktop for like two years or something. But it's still cool.

Pretty old, but still a great work. Beyond the high quality saber effects, visual and acoustic, they also kept it interesting, mixing some physical fighting. The ending was dumb, though.

Now what if the two of them were push/pull whores? That would be funny. Brings back the memories of good ole' JO MP.

It's missing dialogue. They should say somthing at the end...like:

"kbye"

"d00d u got pwned"

"gg"

"lets do ctf now k?"

"lets do FF NG"

I thought the moves themselves, while flashy and fast, exemplify the same problem with most fan made lightsaber duels...they look overly choreographed to the point where it does't look as if these are 2 people engaged in a duel...I was much more impressed with the quality of the camerawork, editing, and effects.

No, the guy in the blue shirt can make clones of himself in the same video.

There's two people that don't fence. It'd be better if I didn't know how dumb lightsaber battles actually are. : /

half the time in lightsaber duels it doesn't even look like they're trying to hit each other, just trying to hit each other's blades for effect.

That one was rather good. Some parts, like the rolling on the floor and a few of the moves could have easily had frames removed, and looked a lot more fluid. Overall, I was impressed.
