I got a virus that literally sends about three emails per second. Right now my inbox has around 1400 emails in it. We tried updating Norton antivirus to the latest version, and it didn't work for some reason. ( [http://forums.massassi.net/html/mad.gif] ) DOes anyone else have this bug? If you do, could you please tell people how to fix it? Thanks a bunch! [http://forums.massassi.net/html/smile.gif]

Uhm, I don't think that is a virus on your computer, why would it send YOU e-mails?

It's a virus. It's actually multiple viruses (virii?). We scanned the computer once as a pre-installation for Norton Antivirus 2004 (We had to buy it to battle this damn virus) and it detected 15 viruses on the computer. 12 or so were trojans, the rest were worms. So I install it without trouble and it tells me to run a full system check, so I do. Or I try. The freaking program won't let me run a system check! When I press "run system check" it says "BLARE BLARE BEEP BEEP ENCOUNTERED A FRIGGIN INTERNAL ERROR JUST TO TICK YOU OFF", or something like that, so the $60 program we just got won't do what its supposed to do.

What do I do? Anyone care to give me the address of the little snot who made this virus? I want to beat them up sooo badly... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/mad.gif] People who make viruses just so they can p*** other people off make me SO MAD, and when I get that mad, I punch the nearest wall that won't break my knuckles... Well, I punched the nearest wall and ripped open my knckle. LOVIN' THE VIRUS! GREAT FUN!

...If you can't tell, I'm majorly p***ed off now. [http://forums.massassi.net/html/mad.gif]

[EDIT: Apparently, when I'm angry, I can't type well either.]

Some virii shut down common anti-virus programs or otherwise prevent you from using them. Try a different one. (Here is a free scan: http://housecall.antivirus.com/ )

Format. It's the only way to be absolutely sure you get rid of everything.

Technically, unless you run some sort of KillDisk program utility that literally shreds everything on your HDD, then you can recover data even off a formatted drive...

My boss used a similar reverse program the other week after a 160Gb HDD containing most of his music died (and I mean a proper death, as in it wouldn't detect the drive even via a primary-to-slave change as well as running an IDE-Device check... [http://forums.massassi.net/html/redface.gif])

I THINK I encountered a similar problem... I had AVG running, and I accedently downloaded a mail, and all of a sudden, my new mail folder was filling by the second and AVG was saying "WARNING! AVG has detected a virus in your mail program!" every time a new mail popped up. Try AVG Anti Virus. Might help.

I will, and that sounds exactly like how my problems started.

Spyware might also be a contributor, with the virus. Try scanning for spyware.

Okay, the virus is fixed, the AVG Anti-virus tool did it for free, thanks Edward.

However, Norton anti-virus still gets an internal error when I try a full ssystem scan. What should I do?
