This is amazing. I always thought Factions was an expansion for Guild Wars, but I guess I was wrong. It's like a whole new game. There are 300 new skills, over 100 new monsters and weapons, you can join alliances, and there are these two opposing nations in the game. You always see NPCs walking around and arguing with each other because they are both from different places, it's really cool. Factions has a VERY asian feel to is, and so far I really enjoy it. There are not only a lot of wide open spaces but a lot of towns and cities, and more compact places than in Guild Wars. There is a BUNCH of new content, and it's all very very sexy. Here are some screenshots below. Hopefully someone can explain Factions more in depth, but right now I'm just starting off.

The new henchman are crazy awesome. Also, the world looks stunning.

It's a shame I have to go home this weekend. Dial-up = no Guild Wars.

The game is fun though. I haven't had this much fun with Guild Wars since I first started playing it way back then.

Looks cool but GW but I got bored with GW. Maybe I'll give the free trial of Factions a shot.

My brother says that Factions is terrible. Dunno why :\

I tried it out yesterday. It looks pretty cool so far. I especially like the asian theme. Even the original classes from the first chapter has an asian look. Especially love the asian looking elementalists. Mmmm... asians

Factions is NOT an expansion. It is a seperate game that is totally playable by itself. However, you can merge Factions with the original Prophecies campaign.

Just tried an Alliance battle....that was really fun. It's a 12 on 12 capture the base kind of thing.

Yea, it was fun (except for the fact that its like trying to fight your way out of Droknar's Forge, as every monster out there is a lvl20+. ah well. Go pre-order weapons!!!). I didn't really play much of it though, as i was having too much fun with EVE Online. Also, the afflicted chacters are both extremely tough and extremely messed up.

Also, Cantha isn't a new continent, but another part of Tyria (speaking of which, i hope they add the ability to travel to Tyria, as i'd love to run through the Tallus Chute with my assassin ).

Too bad i'll be out of the country for the release on April 28th :(.

uh....that will be an ability. All characters start in ascalon when first made. In fact, the people that only have guild wars and those that only have factions will still be able to interact. They just won't be able to trade certain items.
