Wolf 3D. First game I remember ever playing.
I had a blog. It sucked.

Barbarian.

At least, thats what I think it was called. It was on the commodore 64 and you had a different attack for each button+direction combination.
I still remember back and the button made you do a little spin and chop their head off.

Either Barbarian or Usagi Yojimbo (also known as Samurai Warrior) on the C64.

Usagi Yojimbo had this cool system, where you had to bow to friendly characters and only draw your sword when you encounter enemies, like ninjas.
Unfortunately it was incredibly hard to draw the sword or it always came out, when you were trying to bow.

That game was so freaking awesome. I was terrified by those blue floating heads and thier mouths that were perpetually in motion. In fact, I was terrified by a lot of the first games I played. :o
DO NOT WANT.

It was either Bio Menace or Rise of the triad.

Probably Mortal Combat or Carmageddon. Granted, these weren't the first games I ever played, just the first violent ones. After they finally let me play violent videogames, I got to play WHATEVER I wanted.

Wolf 3D, back when it first came out. My uncle was big into it, and pulled me in as well. By the time my parents found out, I'd played it so much that the damage was done. So they just let me continue :)

Pissed Off?

Hmm. There was this Ninja game we had on our computer.

DooM was the first game I played with gore, but my parents saw it and banned it, so my first full gory game may have been Deus Ex. >.>
Ban Jin!

Maybe not the first 'violent' game, but my favorite for a while. :D

Mario/DuckHunt cartridge if you're picky... but for a really violent one on NES:

River City Ransom! I just played this a ton with my gf over Spring break. Hugely fun with 2 players, and she accepted all kinds of illogical plans she'd never be down with in real life.

"Hey, I have an idea. Stand on that trash can and I'll run up real fast and kick it."
"K."
*running kick the can from under her, she flies in the air, lands, the trashcan bounces off a wall and comes back and hits her on the head, she dies, laughs for 5 minutes*

Good times. :)

Also: VGCats is awesome. :D

It was either Doom or Duke Nukem 3D... about 10-12 years ago now I guess. Before that it was just NES stuff (I wouldn't class Mario as violent) or stuff on my dads old Commodore 64, like Battleship (I couldnt understand what "NME" was till my dad explained)
"Whats that for?" "Thats the machine that goes 'ping'" PING!
Q. How many testers does it take to change a light bulb?
A. We just noticed the room was dark; we don't actually fix the problems.
