I'm downloading the video right now, watched a little bit of it via preview, and it looks amazingly interesting. Neat technology, but I think multi-touch touchscreens will work a bit better, though this could be a (much) cheaper alternative.

EDIT: After watching the whole thing, I must say, it's ****ing amazingly awesome. I want one, now.

I'm imagining Homeworld. Would be amazing. Of course, we already know it works well for starcraft and warcraft.

Nothing new at all.

I got Red Alert 2 to work on a SmartBoard (projector aimed at a whiteboard with sensors in it)

...

I think you're either mildly retarded, or didn't realize that this is in fact COMPLETELY new. The thousands of sensors allow multiple touches, multiple screens for multiple input, and multiple audio inputs.

"Slither?" What the crap was that? :p

Yah, these things are way cooler than SmartBoards. SmartBoards work just like laptop touchpads where multiple touches are just averaged to become one. Not to mention the whole thing where this can even detect which user is touching.

I'm more of an FPS kid than an RTS kid, so the technology's cool but it seems useless to me.

Smartboards can be enabled for two contact-point mode, snd the work nothing like laptops. They sctually use a series of cameras to detect contact. The image is just projected onto the back of normal rear-mounted projector canvas.

We're talking about two different types of Smartboards methinks.

Come to think of it... with the whole bit about being able to poke the screen to select units in Warcraft III, it actually makes sense now when you poke a unit too much and he shouts out "Will you stop poking me!".

Haha. I can just imagine this being used by pros who need a faster APM. Then again, 500 APM would tire you out very quickly.
