I hate UPS...

I'm waiting for a package and on the tracking site, it used to say "Delivery Date: March 30th" (yesterday), but now that is gone. Worse still, the package has just been sitting in the biggest city in the state since the 29th.

Any ideas what could be going on here? If I don't get my game by today for the weekend even though I paid 2-day shipping I'm going to be rather pissed.

That's why I always get the cheap 5-10 shipping, since it doesn't really affect the shipping time... at all.

Sounds like a miss-sort + a missed scan. This could also be the result of an accident, I haven't heard anything about accidents though.

The great thing about working for UPS, is that as an employee I can get access to specific hub telephone numbers. Last year around christmas, someone decided to dick me on a next day air. They pulled that "Wasn't available to sign" bull**** for a package that you didn't have to even sign for. I called thier center when the package for here on Monday. Hahaha, his boss was PISSSSED. Now he knows be by name, and I get my packages MUCH earilier in the day on his route.

Things you need to do:

File a claim for your shipping when the package arrives.

If the package doesn't arrive; contact the company you ordered it from and see if they'll give you another. File a claim with UPS for the shipping cost and the total value of the package. Odds are you'll get both back.

This usually the kind of **** that happens with ground service. 2day air is usually pretty solid. But it's a huge company, and **** happens.

My laptop was supposed to be delivered on a Wednesday. But the bastards left the package at distribution center (they forgot to load it on trucks). I missed a whole day of class because a signature was required...and they FORGOT IT. Grrrrr
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

People don't seem to be able to grasp this concept. Any time they have one little problem with a company, they boycott that company for life. Not only that, they usually go around touting how much that company sucks. It's complete bull****. There is no logic behind it.

People often fail to realize that Fedex wouldn't be near as efficient if they handled near the volume UPS does.

Even then, even more people fail to realize that YOUR BOX has to deal with 80 KAJILLION OTHER BOXES.

I really don't understand what the problem is, because there is a money back guarantee on our ship times and service.

Didn't get it on time? ***** and get your money back.

Well, the problem is that the last 4 weeks of my life have been pretty ****ty, and I've been looking forward to (and planning ahead for) this weekend to relax for a change and get myself some nice stuff. Which won't happen now. Money is not the issue here, it's the inconvenience factor.

So, a missed sort and a missed scan huh? Both at the same time. That sucks.

Life sucks.

Get a helmet.

And yeah, I can't think of any other reason why the tracking info would be fubared and it would be late. Packages don't just sit somewhere. Sometimes, the lable printers will print a lable that is completely unscannable, and they normally just get loaded instead of stopping the whole system for one stupid box. Thats a missed scan, and every center is allowed a certain frequency per shift of missed scans based upon how much volume they handle on average.

99.9% of the time a miss-sorted next day or 2day air will not make service. Where as, three day select (Which is only sort of an air service) will usually make it no matter what. Either way, it's guaranteed or your money back.

Just be happy that you aren't one of the people from a few months ago. A whole plane caught on fire, pretty much everything was destroyed in the fire so I heard.

It wasn't too long ago that I ordered something and it was sent FedEx. I tracked it online, and saw that it was going to be delivered on a Wednesday. I was at home all day, and the package never came. I looked online, and it said that the recipient wasn't home. Boy was I mad...

Rob: I'm filling out a Lost Package Form and noticed that under the Shipping Label Information, the Shipped To address provided does not contain my street address or my name, only my phone number and City/State/Potal Code. Could this be the problem?
2006-03-31, 2:23 PM #11
Probably not.

There are a plethora of different kinds of labels, some more useful than others.

Your name and such are probably written somewhere on the box.
2006-03-31, 2:25 PM #12
Wait wait.

Are you looking at the online information? Or do you have the package there?

When you file the Lost Package form, the system automatically enters a "Shipped from" and "Shipped to" address (EDIT: based of the information from the tracking system?!). I noticed it automatically filled in my City/Postal Code/State/Telephone number but not my name or address.

I also contacted the store's website to see what they can do.

OH, then I wouldn't worry about that.

I've never had a lost package before. Only late ones.

How late are we talking about here?

Irony. I'm having UPS problems too. My 2 gigs of RAM are supposed to be delivered today. Well, evidently they were according to UPS because they say they were delivered at 1:13 to the front door. Bull. ****.

Do you think there is any chance of the package (2-day air) still making it here on Saturday?
