I was bored sitting in class last week when i realized that I was wearing 3 zipper items of clothing all made by different companies yet all the zippers had YKK stamped on them. I did some searching on yahoo and they are an indonesian company that just mkaes zippers. I asked around the classroom everyones zippers were all ykk... well anyways if there not a monoply I dont know what is...

History of the Zipper
Fun fact: A Canadian designed the modern zipper.

YKK stands for Yoshida Kogyo Kabushikikaisha, the initials of the founder of the Japanese fastener company. Today they maintain offices and manufacturing plants throughout the world, and are by far the leading supplier of zippers. YKK homepage

So it really isn't a conspiracy, just a highly successful business.
