2006-04-07, 6:02 PM #7
if you were a real man you'd have provisions a-plenty in your domicile. or you'd kill someone with an apple core for some more. whichever sounds best to you.
2006-04-07, 6:06 PM #8
its because i'm just getting drunk because earlier on i was gonna go out and get drunk

but i didnt

so i had to drink with a huge distance between myself and the booze shop

therefore i am partly drunk

but TOMORROW

i am gonna be so wrecked i wont be able to see properly

6 liters of weapons grade cider

a ton of MDMA

and a little bit of green

and maybe some other harsh stuff if i can find it!!!

I've always wondered why people drink to get drunk...
"Jayne, this is something the Captain has to do for himself"

quick short story...

University friends 21st birthday, his parents own a couple of hotel's (in other words he's loaded)

One of the hotel's is set aside for his 21st party, 30+ friends from university turn up (mostly rowing club), we can stay for 2 nights at no cost, everything provided free, very nice hotel 3 or 4 star.

Free bar for the whole of the night of the party

I go through 10+ glasses of port and 2 pints of stella... then lost count mid-way through the night of anything else. (should point out that i'm ~5'9", 65kg - 143lbs)

I go back to my room on the third floor, manage to get to the third floor fine, don't know how, but then dropped my glasses,

At this point, pissed off my head, with very dim lighting in the hall, I can't see more than 2 feet in front of me, I start crawling up and down the hallway trying to find my glasses.

A couple of my lovely university friends are watching me do this for what they say was over half an hour till I eventually found them. They even got me on camera, bumping into walls with my head, at no point did they let me know they were there. f***ers :p

They then followed me back to my room and proceeded to smear my face with toothpaste after I had fallen asleep.

My nephew's christening was the following day at 11am and I had an hour drive to get home...that following morning was not pretty.
People of our generation should not be subjected to mornings.

hahaha

reminds me of the last night of leeds 05 for some weird reason

i passed out in my chair at 8am, then vomited in my sleep on the floor (luckily)

then i woke up 5 minutes later tied up.

after i freed myself, i spent the next hour wishing death and cancer on all my friends at the top of my lungs

i guess thats what happens when you drink an obscene amount over 4 days
2006-04-07, 7:01 PM #12
Your alcohol tolerance level has increased by 1.

I still think Spe should focus his money towards joining a gym rather than booze. He can get a buzz off of running 5 miles or so. >.>

but the sober buzz is so boring...

I did three shots of that stuff in a couple of minutes after having about 12 drinks the previous 3 hours. ****ed me up. The only time I've thrown up and blacked out. I woke up naked in the shower the next day.
Pissed Off?

That's not microevolution. That's building up a tolerance.

Do you even know what evolution is?

I started drinking Mozart liquor in 2004 or so, and that's basically only thing from which I get my dozes of ethanol when I need it.

That and cough mixtures.

I used to be such a lightweight it was ridiculous. A night out would consist of £5 to get me into a gig/cheap club and £10 for 3 or 4 drinks, and I would be set.

Last night I had something in the region of 10 vodka and lemonades. Not a massive night by any standards, but my hangover has quite a presence right now. I'm working up the courage to pull some clothes on and go buy a couple of sausage sandwiches.

haha poor maeve, i dont get hangovers anymore :D

and nitropenguin, the whole point of this thread is my frustration towards the fact that i used to love getting hammered off 4 pints.

now i can drink about 14 and keep going.

it sucks ***, i demand some miracle drug that resets my alcohol tolerance!
2006-04-08, 8:15 AM #26
I haven't been plastered. The only time I got close was when I had 3 long Islands, 6 pints of beer in about 2 hours. On an empty stomach. Sucks being around 220. Although, no hangovers are nice:D
obviously you've never been able to harness the power of cleavage...

All i need is 8 or 10 shots of tequilas and i get drunk.

thats about £15 alone.

then i need ciggies and cola.

Thats about £20

£35 to get drunk, just so I can have fun for 2 hours, then walk home and go to bed alone?

Thats not even worth £3.50

Judging from this sentence, I'd have to say you're drunk. Or pretending to be.
2006-04-08, 9:09 AM #30
I downed about 8 or 9 beers yesterday afternoon. There's this Dionysus festival that the students association puts on, and the beer gardens are much enjoyed. Anyway, went from there to Wimpy's, had me a nice philly cheese steak, then proceeded to down a 1.5 litre bottle of wine. I'm told that I don't seem drunk for a while when I've had wine, then I'll just start saying ridiculous things out of the blue. Walking becomes quite a chore as well.

Building up a tolerance is a form of adapting, is it not?

But it's not genetic. And it doesn't lead to new subspecies.

No. Microevolution is the process by which certain specie's traits become adapted to their environment over a several generations through natural selection. For instance, if it was to a bird's advantage to have a bigger beak, the birds with big beaks would survive and the ones with small beaks wouldn't. The big beaked parents will have more big beaked chicks. The individual creature doesn't change.

Breading is a form of microevolution, but with unnatural selection.
