No, this isn't about the blonde joke. I got a bottle of coke from a fry truck on the street today, and instead of the usual 591 mL, it was 710 mL.

Am I just crazy, because I've never seen a 710 mL bottle before... I could have sworn that they were 591 for some reason. Oh well.

I've seen a couple 24oz (thats 710ml) bottles, but not many. They're pretty rare, indeed.

Wow. In Canadia the standard size for a coke bottle is 340 ml with large bottles being 500 ml. The next size up from that is 2 L.

I see them all the time. Its bigger than a 591ml bottle, and smaller than a Litre.

Pretty lame too, who needs a million different pepsi bottle sizes.

In britland we get 330ml cans, 500ml bottles, then 2L bottles.

I think you might sometimes get a 1L, and other drinks sometimes do a 750ml glass bottle.
nope.

In Finland 500 ml bottles and 1.5 L bottles. There might be also 330 ml glass bottles for some restaurant use, or something. But they are rare in shops, I think.

Because the bottles are recycled a few times, I don't think they are very eager to suddenly introduce new sizes (over here).

It stems from American sizes. 591ml is 20 ounces I'm pretty sure, and 710ml is 24 ounces as CM said.

...I never really thought 24oz bottles were that uncommon... I usually get 1L though.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Where I live (Also in Canada) the standard is 591, and the next up is 710.
