Hooray for Subway!
2006-04-19, 1:52 PM #1
Yeah, they hired me. I start tomorrow. It's my first job, so meh... I'm just happy to get any kind of cash flow.

Anybody here ever worked at Subway? If so, what should I expect?

Hehe, it's funny..the manager is exactly like "Apu" from the Simpsons

Expect people to be impatient with you, no matter what. If you go in with that expectation, you are going to have a much better time than to expect cordiality.

I always go to subway at like 2 in the morning; nobody else is ever there.

Also I had a funny story once about a guy dressed up as a subway sandwich which i believe is immortalized in Tracer's sig.

Indeed it is, but the details are rather vague. Please tell said story.

And Delphian, congrats on your first job. Just make sure you show up on time, and work hard, and don't take it personal when people complain to you.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Get him to say "Thank you! Come again!" after every customer.
Code to the left of him, code to the right of him, code in front of him compil'd and thundered. Programm'd at with shot and $SHELL. Boldly he typed and well. Into the jaws of C. Into the mouth of PERL. Debug'd the 0x258.

THIS FURTHERS MY THEORY.

ALL SUBWAYS ARE OWNED BY INDIANS.

Yay for Delphian, or Subway, or something. Yay anyway.

Subway need to get more branches in the Uk, the nearest one to me is in the capital, which I only really go to every 2 or 3 months.

:( I want a meatball sub!
nope.

Forgle? That guy who appears in ads.

I don't like him. But something about the way his mouth moves compells me to watch the ad.

I hate Jared, he's annoying and....annoying.

I'll try to keep my opinion to myself, however. :p

Didn't we have a "Subway VS Quizno's" poll a few weeks back?

I remember voting for Quizno's. :o

Quiznos is better than Subway, that's why they can charge more.
2006-04-19, 6:53 PM #21
I can't stand quiznos. Not only are the local one's owned by some 80 year old with a 28 year old wife (With a snob *** little 7 year old to boot) who spews **** out of his mouth, but the stuff tastes like crap.

The subway here is infinately better, but you know what? This isn't the thread to debate that.

So... by shawarma, do you mean döner? Because döner > *.

Make sure you wear gloves at all times. I remember this one time this one subway guy took out the trash without gloves and preceeded to make a tuna sandwich. My Mom got ill because of that.

How about a deli in a grocery store that sells sandwiches exactly like Subway does, but also includes a bunch of other crap to do along with it? Then you have people coming in at 9:30, after everything is shut down, and you're simply supposed to CLEAN stuff before you leave at 10:00, and some ****** comes up wanting a 12-inch prime rib sandwich that ends up taking 10 or 15 minutes to make because you have to get all the stuff for it out again, and the store's policy is not to just let you say "sorry we're closed, I have other work to do" because they have some of the highest farking prices around so they need to force their employees to kiss everyones *** hoping that will make up for their high prices.

Yea I quit that job.

Not only is your story ridiculous, but if the tuna sandwich preceded the trash, then it's impossible. I think you meant proceeded. :p

Subway ftw. The Quiznos on campus blows so I would say that Quiznos sucks. However, people say it's not the full Quiznos.

Panera is good too, but sometimes I think it is the trendy, hippy, east-coast liberal elites' sub shop in comparison to Subway and Quiznos.
