Planetside is offering a "reserves" program that'll allow anyone to download the game and play for a full year. It expires March of 2007 and the only limitation is that you can't exceed Battle Rank 6 and Command Rank 2.

I've been playing the best few days and I'm having fun. I kinda suck at the game (I die way more than I kill) but it's really a fun game. The game is like a MMO version of Battlefield. There are 3 empires at war with another and the goal of the game is to capture and secure a number of planets and hold them as long as possible. It's not a MMORPG so don't expect any PvE or quests to complete. It's pure PvP and the game world is never static.

I used to love this game when it first came out...but they started messing with stuff and then the expansion pack was excessively lame so I stopped playing. Good game overall, though.
