Eh, it is a pretty lame name, but Nintendo's never really been known for their systems' names. We have a Nintendo and then a uh... SUPER Nintendo, and then er... Nintendo 64! At least they're not just tacking on numbers like the Playstation.

Damn, Revolution was an awesome name. Now "Wii" will make people think its some Japanese gimmick.

Nintendo seems to start changing doing the right things, then they once again prove that somehow they have idiots in the company.

All those people, all that R&D, and you come up with Wii. Did they not consult the US and realize how Wii - pronounced WE - can be used in describing a men's penis?

That reminds me of this pep rally one of my teachers in HS hosted.

One of the things he talked about in the speech was "Our We-ness".

It instantly became a catchphrase in the school... slight modified of course. To Wenis.

Man, some people are fast. Checked the IGN forums, already 3 major sexual inneundo pictures with the logo (Don't know if I can post here even though its done with letters), and tons of sexual jokes about people asking "Hey, you want to come over and play with my Wii", "I grab my wii-mote with two hands", etc.

Some articles from Nintendo have emerged stating how they knew it could be associated with taking a pee, but they backed it up with other companies choosing names that could be taken out of context. However, those products you do not PLAY, and that's where lots of the jokes come.

Getting ready for lots of 10 year olds to start the "I'm playing with my Wii!"
