I don't know if people will love me or hate me for posting this thread, but seeing as I couldn't find a recent thread about the SAT on Massassi, I thought I'd go ahead.

So, I took the April 1st SAT, with a 2120 (new score) or 1420 (old score):

740 Critical Reading
680 Math
700 Writing, with a 12 on the Essay

Each section is out of 800 (for a total of 2400/1600), and out of 12 on the essay.

I was very happy with these scores, much better than I expected, far better than my PSAT and my practice SAT. However, I still think the SAT is the most ridiculous method of getting into college ever invented.

So post your scores and/or complain about the U.S. College Board system.

I'm lazy so I'm not going to google it.

Someone care to give a quick do-over of what this SAT thing involves?

I took it last december and am intending on retaking it in october if I can get around to preparing for it properly .. though I kind of think it's pointless

2230/1480 780/700/750 m/v/w (If I were to retake it'd be purely to get my critical reading grade up)

I'm more worried about the impending doom of APs that start in two days

[on the college system: you actually don't have to score that high on the SAT (your scores are fine), considering the median for 99% of even the "top" colleges are only around the 600s and MAYBE the 700s (excluding places like MIT, caltech)

Never took the SAT, so I'll post my ACT scores instead!

Close to those figure, at least. I can't remember my Science score, but I know it was somewhere around the mid twenties.

2090... too lazy to be arsed exactly what got what. But it was like ~700 for math, ~700 for writing, ~650 for verbal.

Edit: To be mentioned, I got a 3 the first time I wrote the essay because I said Chistopher Columbus was a cheating, coniving *******, who merely followed the footsteps of the vikings, claiming a mistake as a success, or somesuch nonsense.

I never took this newfangled SAT, but my old score was a 1490 the first time I took it and a 1500 the second. *shrug*

In year 9 I was an EP, 8 and 7 in Science, Maths and English respectively.

Like that means anything to you Yanks.

Certainly not genius standings like all of you *******, but it works for me.

I only got 28 on my ACT.

I got 1200 on my SATs, 600 on eah section of the test. Got a 720 on my writing SAT II, however.

I too, thought the April 1st test date was a little unfortunate, especially since the college board was still recovering from its October test mis-grading mayhem.

Scholastic Assesment Test

"SAT" actually doesn't stand for anything anymore. The College Board officially announced that it would stand for nothing after years of confusion (during which many names were made up) after they changed it from Scholastic Achievement Test to Scholastic Aptitude Test.

I never took the SAT. I got a 25 on the ACT my first time and 28 the second and a 94 on the ASVAB.

Reading: 710
Math: 720
Writing: 800
Essay: 12
