Crazy thoughts I've been having lately about the classic saga:
Has anyone else noticed that after watching Revenge of the Sith, Dark Empire becomes that much better and creepier?
For that matter, since Luke became Sidious's Sith Apprentice, what's his "Darth" name? I thought maybe Shinu, or Solaris, or something like that.
Speaking of Skywalkers and the Emperor, what's the "Official Story" from the Empire as to the events that occured involving Anakin/Vader? Or the Sith? I've heard that Palpatine's Sithliness was a secret to all but the upper echelons. Doesn't sound right, considering Darth Vader was openly Sith. I don't think anyone knew he was Anakin, as that sort of news might come to Luke, don't you think?
What exactly was Padme's role in the Queen...liness of Naboo? Are Luke and Leia heirs to the throne of Naboo? is Luke King? (check here for a slightly dated yet still illuminating discussion on this)

-And one last thing before I play Zombie Survival on the Strofe Empire server: What happened to Palpatine's Lightsaber (the one that he fought Yoda with) in Dark Empire? Did he lose it in an off-screen fight with Luke? That would be cool.

palp's sithness was still a secret to all but the upper court/trusted people/people he fried

luke/leia have no right to the throne of naboo because it was an elected postion, not heritiary, queen/king = president of the planet, no more

Queen was just the title they used. There was no actual monarchy.

Although I do wonder if they had male elected officials? Padme was replaced by another woman, right?

Afaik, Padme's predecessor was a king, and it was rumored at one point that he had been Darth Plagueis, as he was murdered in his sleep. Dun dun dun.

Perhaps he became so powerful that he no longer needed it.

EDIT: Meanwhile, in the Naboo throne room,

I'd rather be Darth Totally Freaking Awesome.

Can't mess with that.

Luke: Thats Darth Totally Freaking Awesome.. I can't compete with that. Here, I'll cut my own hand off.

Luke and Leia are not heirs to the Throne of Naboo. Naboo is based off a democracy and copied many ideals found in Coruscant. They have to be elected by the people. I doubt any of them will take up the position anyways.

Palpy concealed his lightsaber in the long sleeves of his regal clothes and used it only when absolutely necessary. Over the years of his chancellorship, his lightsaber was well hidden in a piece of sculpture that was in his office. Later, it was built with some kind of material that made the handle resistant to lightsabers too. He didn't need his lightsaber much, as Darth Vader was usually at his side, and Frank was so strong with the force to not need a saber to protect himself. Also, his elite guards were almost always with him, which can take out almost anything non-force-weidleing. And since there was no Jedi to be concerned with, he felt that the Elite Guards will do just fine.

Frank also didn't care what people knew about him and his history. He just wanted the people to see him as their emporer, and protector. Frankr was also wise to not publicize being a Sith, as some people in the empire despise Force-weilders, and others do not agree with the Sith. Darth Vader wasn't called a Sith much, to my knowledge, just only Jedi (which was loosely tied to "good" and "force-weilder").

maybe in the EU but this wasn't written by GL therefore irrelevant to the true story of Star Wars

Star Wars...isn't true. It's just a story. I'm sorry. :(

because, you know, coruscant, aayla secura, dash rendar's ship, quinlan vos, and asp droids ALL were original creations by GL.

(hint: the above is sarcasm. all of those came from the EU and weren't featured in the movies until later, thus proving that the EU does, in fact, have relevance to the "true story of star wars")

I have this great Star Warks quirk myself. It's the cat's pajamas. Wowee! I think I should email it to Georgie

Did you know that there's a sportswear company whose name is the letters JJB? The same letters as the initials of the one and only hero of the gungan race? The same as JAR JAR BINKS???/

This is such a coincidence! I can't believe it!

Amazing stuff

Some months ago some role-playing site that was shown on Massassi which gave biographies of JK Characters, claimed that the Emperor was reborn and watching things from the rim. Now that's something to ponder over.

Of course you may disagree
2006-05-12, 4:26 PM #37
Here's another thought: Everybody rags on GL for making the "obviously racist" character of Jar Jar Binks. Now, first of all, I'd say that out of all the Gungans, Jar Jar himself seems to have the least dislike or concern about humans and people of other species/races, so I don't think he's very racist [/joke].
Anyways, this is supposed to be because he has an Afro-Carribean accent and a "Black Slave Attitude" or something like that. Now, the voice, I understand. Yeah, he has a Jamaican accent. Big deal. Anakin has an American accent. His mother has a vaguely Irish accent (though he was raised on Tatooine, might explain the difference). Padme has a British accent. Sometimes.
Now, I says this to point something out. Let's look at the character of Obi Wan Kenobi. Obviously a Scottish man, prone to violence whenever he's in a bar, galavanting with criminals all the time... I think that Obi Wan Kenobi is the most racist character in Star Wars.

-You know... besides the Emperor.
