Zip then fasten, or fasten then zip?

Ok, it's morning. You're getting ready to go to work. You pull on your pants. Do you fasten then zip or zip then fasten?

:p

Fasten then zip. Its faster since the zip will go straight up.

Fasten then zip, its faster since you have more freedom to fasten... Better... Or something.

For this, Zell gets a nice kick in the pants.
I had a blog. It sucked.

HAHA, just a few months ago on another forum I posted the exact same topic.

The poll results there were 21 who fasten then zip and 10 who zip then fasten with a final 2 who were confused as to what "pants" were.

I believe the majority concluded that, atleast for guys, even when underwear is on and functioning properly, the risks of zipping before fastening were just too great.

zip, then fasten

My hand moves up for the zipping and arrives in position to fasten. It's the best way.

Girls find it sexier if you fasten, zip. Then unfasten, the unzip.

I don't wear jeans. Sweatpants, japanese trousers, and lounge-pants are the only thing fit for my bulge.

I'm sure it has nothing to do with the form of your legs or the fact that it's much more comfortable when zipping about on a turbo-charged wheel chair throughout the northern twin cities area.. :p

Fasten zip, even though it's the most inefficient way. I think the zipper is more likely to come down of its own accord (it's happened before, I swear!) and it's easier to forget to zip altogether!

I did, but I just saw this now so...Weird I was thinking about this at work today. (I swear I was actually working.)

But zip than fasten. I'm lazy and everything is done in a straight line.

Yeah. Also helps keep the zipper from getting caught on stuff.

I would argue it creates a more efficient guillotene (sp?!) - if she flies fast, she flies dangerously!

I fasten then zip.

I think.... maybe.

Do people really stop and think about things like this? It seems silly.

Fasten, and then zip.

It makes zipping easier.

I even go the same order when I take my pants off.
2006-05-10, 7:44 AM #28
First zip, then fasten.

If you fasten before you zip, because then zipping is easier it means only one thing:
FATTY!

I voted fasten-zip by accident. I have always zipped, THEN fastened. It's the only way that makes sense to me. Zipping youls be so much harder if you fasten first.

Niether. I have not worn pants with a zipper in years. Button fly is the way to go.

Ok, but the real question is what about when you're wearing a belt?

Do you fasten, zip, buckle?
fasten, buckle, zip?
or zip fasten buckle?

etc...

Personally I tend to fasten, buckle, zip. My roommate finds that odd... But then she's female, and just doesn't get it. Most women (oddly enough I've had this conversation with a couple of girlfriends) zip first, then fasten due to the way women's pants are designed. Because they're tighter, it's hard to fasten without zipping first to get the two sides of the pants closer together. Add that to the fact that they don't really have anything to potentiall get stuck in the zipper, and it just works better for them.
If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice.

Zip, then fasten. And in reverse order to take pants off.

Also, did anyone else find after reading this thread that the word 'fasten' lost all meaning? =/
