Ok got back from my first day and all I can say is that im the happiest person alive. It was soooo much fun. The people there were all friendly the stuff they have there is awesome and just wow, im so impressed.

They have 3 diff. Avid suites, one with symphony and two others with other versions of avid, they have pro tools and just niceeee equipment. so many diff. types of cameras like dag!

When I first got there I got to sit in on a shooting they had on the green screen stage, and the people working in there were all really nice and just really informative. Every worker there was so personable, it was really cool.

To top it off, (I wont say when) but in the near future Tiger Woods is coming in to film some stuff. luckily im going to be interning that day, so its a possibility i'll be able to watch the shoot (woohoo!!!)

They are always having people in and outta there. THey do mostly television and commercial stuff, the guy I was talking to Sean is the editor and is always working with the Avid systems, so Im going to be his shadow! lol he was telling me he'll prob have me do things EEK! lol but im so excited. This kid who just came from a Private school was ranting and raving about the place saying its where he wants to work cuz its one of the best in the area and they are constantly having work. One of the workers said its a great place to intern at because they are so multi-facted. Some places are "just editing" or "just stage work" etc. whereas they have it all.

I mean the big boss is currenly in Papa New Guinea filming stuff for a documentary about a WWII plan that is being resurrected there from when it crashed. And actually Sean the Editor was working on that footage while we were there. AWESOME

I cant wait for friday, all I can say is I absolutely LOVE that place. today was so amazing and I just know it'll get better. they said today was a SLOW day and I was learning so much. AHHH im soooo happy!!!!

I had to share, this was the coolest thing ever. Im sharing it here, cuz im sure u all have the respect for the kinda equipment they have like the Avid Systems and all that...bahh im in heaven

But hey...I'm glad you had the awesome time that you did. Sounds like you may wind up working there yourself. I thought the exact same things you did on my first day.

i had a decent internship, i got paid for it so i cant complain, 12.50 an hour and they paid me up front for 120 hours of work i had my own office, computer, desk, chair, phone, all that stuff so it was cool. I mostly inputted numbers into their new database so it got a little tediuous.

Lol today was fun cuz Sean the guy who's my age but who's the editor there like took me under his wing. So when the secretary wanted to go to lunch with me he was all annoyed lol.

But then later he saved me, cuz another of the guys there pulled Lawles (the other intern) to go paint one of the stages, and he was going to get me, and behind him Sean was mouthing "nooo" lol (in a joking manner) but then he turned to the guy and was like "dude she's my intern back off" lol sean was like "im teaching her some things on Avid Symphony, go away" lol

So it was pretty fun, so today I was basically the whole day with sean, we messed around with Symphony, and he was showing me to use the beta decks and all this stuff. and then he had a client come in needing him to transfer their tape to another format for a music video thats' getting sent to E! cuz they are doing this bio on this chick singer, so that was cool watching him work.

I mean not to rant (although I am) but is it wrong to find a guy completely attractive when he can speak computer/editing talk? Its so horrible only been there 2 days (this wed, and today...I go M/W/F ) and im already crushing on this guy. lol

He was talking about all these things about transfering data and working the machines and how the guy had it at 720 and he was going to put it in 1080 I wanted to jump him right there! haha Im such a dork! lol

anyways, the job is fun u know besides just sean, Im loving working with all the equipment and everyone there rox. lol I think I want to go work there now once I finish up with my classes cuz that place rox
