I just envisioned a horrible future in which, in addition to having canned laughter, sitcoms and other comedy shows splash "LOL!!!" in colorful bubble letters every time something funny happens.

What results do YOU expect from the rising popularity of AOL jargon in the communications and entertainment industry?

There will be TV shows dedicated entirely to debating the correct pronunciation of internet acronyms. "Is it 'roffle' or 'row-ful'?" "'lawl' or 'loll'?"

I say lol in my computing class. In fact, my computing class is full of out-loud AOL jargon but we say it all as a joke.

When our teacher says something that's supposed to be funny we all go "ROFFLE" and "L-M-A-O" and the teacher thinks we're insane. We have a good laugh though.

I lost count of the number of times I've said LOL in a conversation and went "oops, I mean hahaa".

Sneaky sneaks. I'm actually a werewolf. Woof.
