So, I didn't do the readings for the past half of the readings for my Classical Humanities 1060 course (The Iliad, Oresteia, etc.), and, so, consequently, I got a 116/150 on the final.

However, the TA thought it brought my overall grade down too much because I knew small obscure facts from the chapters (yay, Wikipedia) and participated in discussion a lot, so he bumped me up to an A-.

awww... I thought this was about the legendary prog rock band.

Just kidding. That's awesome! If only people would bump my grades up on a regular basis.

Niiice. I managed to slack off in my Classical Myth course too. I had done 40% of the readings already, from a course last year (The Oresteia, Philoktetes, and something else). I also got all I needed to know about The Iliad from seminar discussions, and read the book summaries for The Aeneid. I only got 10 pages or so into The Odyssey, but I still managed to identify and explain quotes from it, drawing from what I knew of the story.

I love getting suprised by good grades. I wrote what I thought was a crappy paper, a C at best, one time and I got an A- on it. I was pretty happy when I got that paper back.
