A movie called "The Omen" is about to show up everywhere.

Oh, God yes, it just makes me sad that the Hot Topic foundation donated 60,000 dolalrs to the media school I go to and we get a new recording setup, so I can only hate the stores and not the whole organization.

Well somehwere I heard that the 666 number is actually a mis-translation that's cropped up over the years, so we'd be safe anyway :p

What it is, is some (not all) early versions of the Book of REvelation (no s, I hate it when I make that mistake) have 616 as the humber. It is supposedly a Gematria code for the emperor Nero.

Sad to say, most of the scary stuff in the bible was political commentary on their own time.

Yeah... but God knew what he was doing when he had john write it. Seriously, the book of Revelation just doesn't seem really useful right now. It's really hard to say what's allegory, and picture and what-not. It seems more of the type of thing we'll understand when they come to pass. There's a few useful things in there, but a lot of people take simplistic interpretations from it when they usually shouldn't.

That's right. The "Christian" calendar, with months and days and stuff, is completely material.

In fact, if you do the math, you could find out exactly how long it's been since Jesus or Mohammed or whoever died, in days.
