Preface:
That said: If you have not seen this movie, go out and rent it *now*. Get out of the house for a few minutes and go. You might meet a girl. Or perhaps a nice bum. You just need to see this movie.
The plot centers around 5 guys that are slated to clean out the asbestos (not even trying the right spelling) of Danver State Asylum. They each have their own issues, of course, and this job only magnifies their problems (they have to have it done in one week, when the min. estimate is three weeks). There's an awesome subplot that ends up tying in to the main plot with some old audio tapes of "Patient #444". Go to Apple and watch the trailer.
Oh. My. God. So. Very. Creepy. There are never any instances of things jumping out of the dark to scare you. There is only about one minute of gore, total. It's scary as hell because the characters get into your head. There is nothing that happens in this movie that couldn't actually happen, and the end leaves you absolutely breathless after an intense ten minute stretch of terrifying images, audio, and realizations that you've come to as you watch the movie.
In fact, it was so good, I forgot to live for a few minutes and had a seizure. First one in six years. Came out of it, waited an hour, and finished the last few minutes. Superb film.
Go watch it now. NOW.
